Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a term used to describe a range of eye conditions that cause damage to the optic nerve, which results in progressive restriction of the field of vision. Glaucoma causes blindness if left untreated. It is therefore important to see an eye care specialist in good time.
Any vision impairment that has already been caused by glaucoma is irreversible. It is, however, usually possible to prevent the damage worsening. This is done by lowering intraocular pressure which is responsible for the damage to the optic nerve by glaucoma medication or glaucoma surgery.

Early diagnosis of glaucoma is especially important. ocuranaOptima is a particularly effective method of preventive care.
High intraocular pressure can be an indication of glaucoma. The conventional procedure used for intraocular pressure measurement is very subject to errors. For this reason ocurana determines the intraocular pressure by measuring corneal thickness. This method gives our patients much greater confidence.
In addition to measuring the intraocular pressure, it is also possible to test for glaucoma from the ocular blood flow. ocurana uses a modern method to measure the ocular blood pressure directly in the eye, allowing precise measurement of a further glaucoma risk factor, giving our patients a double safety net.
Intraocular blood pressure measurement is also beneficial for the prevention of stroke. Just get in touch!
